This picture does do this street justice. It is a 2-3 block series of homes that nearly all go mad with lights. There used to be a programmed volcano that would errupt complete with red flowing lava (lights) down to the ground.

The street is much better than the picture shows. It is arguably the best in the area.
This street is amazing. The picture shown is nothing compared to what you usually see walking down it. The residents even hand paint many of their lights to get more vivid colors.
We miss you 37th street Christmas lights!!!!
I try to walk this every year. It is much better then the picture. It has some of the coolest lights I have seen. It has had the neatest nativity with the Sturgen Mary (a fish) and the Baby Cheeses and the 3 bud weiser (king of beers).
This place rocks. I visit it as often as I can and there is always something new and interesting. It is astonishing the creativity and ingenuity of these people.
This scene has got to be seen to be believed. It stretches for more than a block, with lights crossing back and forth over the street. It's only somewhat about xmas, which is attractive to some (I've seen an Elvis shrine in years passed, along with Barn)
A long-time favorite, this home-grown neighborhood display outshines the commercial ones. It's a must see for anyone in Austin.
These 3 blocks of lights are AMAZING, my partner and I go see the lights every year. All the homeowners get in on the decorating, including their backyards. Every year it is a different theme. It really is a must see in the Austin area
Awesome!!
I went to a Christmas party at one of the houses on this street, years ago when I lived in Austin. It was AMAZING! I still think of it every year. We walked up and down the street and EVERY house was lit up to all get out. Must see to believe.
I don't know what the street looks like, but this photo is not very 'Christmas-ey'. Lame!
someone should really change the picture... 37th st people hold like quarterly meetings to talk about lights
jajaja ya te vale ,, un saludo y feliz navidad y prospero año2007
This is the first year My Grandson (2.5 yrs old) will see the Christmas lights on 37th street, I am so excited to take him to see all the lights!!!
Not as good as it used to be.
I've been driving from dallas for years to see this street. best in the state!
I totally agree- this photo does not do 37th justice! It\'s a whole street and a half of signature Austin style, using everything from light-filled Coke bottles to Barbie dolls, even an old stove. Walking 37th makes a wonderful date, family outing, etc.
When does the street really start picking up with folks checking out the lights? I know it gets pretty congested and I\'d like to check it out before then because it rocks! Thanks!
